Guidelines for submitting to On Campus

  • Ohio State faculty, staff and students can submit items for consideration here.
  • The submission deadline is at noon three business days prior to the requested publication date.
  • Submission does not guarantee publication on the website, in the e-newsletters or both. Editorial decisions are made each day based on space, timeliness, university priorities and more.
  • Items generally featured include those related to research and creative expression; university events and opportunities; institutional updates; and faculty, staff and student accomplishments.
  • Items that will not be considered for publication include: job postings, for-profit ventures or events/services that require payment, obituaries, news unrelated to the Ohio State community, and any items deemed inappropriate by the editorial staff.
  • Submitted items must be:
    • Related or pertinent to the university community. Events open only to members of a specific college or unit, for example, will not be considered for On Campus.
    • Include a university-affiliated web link. Submissions with links to websites external to or unaffiliated with Ohio State will not be considered. Submissions with links that do not fall within Ohio State’s web governance policy (e.g., u.osu.edu links) will not be considered. Please note that links to online video event forms such as Zoom are acceptable, but the page must include the host college or unit; an event description; and date, time and location.
    • Free of charge for the university audience. Events and programs with a monetary cost will not be considered. These items, however, can be considered for advertising in On Campus.

We reserve the right to reject or cancel any advertisement for any reason, including, without limitation, advertisements that advocate sedition or other illegal actions; promote activities that are detrimental or damaging to Ohio State; or may be construed as defamatory, invasive of privacy, fraudulent or obscene. How much notice is required to book an advertisement?

All requests must be made at least five business days in advance of the desired publication date. What are your advertising rates and specifications?

What does a typical advertisement look like?

What is the difference between a sponsorship and other advertisements?

A sponsorship in On Campus Today typically consists of five consecutive days of ads (Monday through Friday) and includes text and an image, as well as placement as the first advertisement in each edition. Sponsorships in On Campus Weekly (undergrad or graduate/professional student editions) are semester-long and include text and an image, as well as placement as the first advertisement in each edition.

Non-sponsorship advertisements are grouped by type and the order in which they are received.

I’ve reviewed the ad rate card. Now what?

Email adsales@osu.edu to set up your account. From there, we will work with you to choose your ad date(s) and will prepare your insertion order to confirm those dates. You will receive email instructions about how to submit your advertisement through our system. You will then submit your advertisement content and will be notified when it scheduled for inclusion.

Can I cancel or reschedule an advertisement?
